I am primarily an abstract painter, using pure pigments, oil, acrylic along with collage elements from prints & photographs. I gravitate towards bold use of color, intricate patterns, and dynamic compositions that draw the viewer in and invite them to explore the depths of my imagination. I feel that art has the power to capture the beauty of our world and express ideas and emotions in a way that words cannot.
My recent series of paintings explores how climate change is affecting the Morongo Desert and its inhabitants. By exploring this topic through art, I hope to create a powerful visual representation of how color and mood reflects the morning light, evening sunset or that massive windstorms in the desert. My imagery is informed by the diverse geographical landscape and addresses community amid calamity, showing the beauty as well as the pitfalls of light pollution, increased population density, and temperature changes on the environment and our emotions.
